”Jab aankh mein aansoo tair rahein hotey hain.. tou yeh kaisey muskura leti hain?”
Very rightfully said by Jalal Mirza. That seems to be the theme of the latest installment for this drama.
We saw how Zareena broke the news of Wahab Ahmed’s new wife to an ever unsuspecting and timid, Ramis. Leave alone the poor guy, even her own daughters are amazed at her reaction to her beloved husband’s most recent kaarnama.
And I have a question for the producers, was this serial actually shot in 2010 or are we still living in the past?
Meanwhile, Wahab Ahmed is busy celebrating his wedding night with his new bride, Maina. He is now, so happy that he completely forgets that he’s a 60 year old and starts dancing like a chichora banda in front of her. That was one sequence that still hurts my eyes when I think of it.
I wouldn’t even want to imagine, what exactly does Bunty think of his so-called Cousin’s new husband dancing away to glory. And why exactly was Bunty observing this you may want to ask, right?
Well, Maina bibi isn’t so straight forward now, isn’t she?
Sahir, is now hell-bent on getting Rameen to do as he says, even if that means threatening her with the D-word which is so synonomous with dramas these days. And Rameen has no choice, but to give in to his pressure rather than, face his wrath for disobeying his intentions.
She then agrees that she’ll make sure that Tooba agrees to marry Taimoor either by hook or crook. I hope at least for Rameen’s sake, that Tooba is now willing, to become a sacrifical lamb to this so called animal, called Taimoor.
Mr.Disco Dancer is suddenly woken up by a phone call from someone called, Taimoor Mirza. He’s forgotten so quickly, that the reason why he was possessed just a while ago to the level of insanity, was due to this very person.
Taimoor wants to know about his consignment of T-rice, but instead he’s busy trying to find the whereabouts of his dancing partner. Imagine his shock, when he sees her returning from Bunty’s room?
Bunty who? He’s the one, who makes a miss and blink appearance in almost every episode. He’s the person who is busy chasing not only Tooba and her sister but also Mr.Wahab Ahmed’s new possession.
But, not only does Maina embarass him for asking such a ridiculous question, about her absence from his bed but also convinces him to throw for her, and her Bunty-bhai a grand walima.
Is this the same, Wahab Ahmed we’ve known since the first episode?
Taimoor, has been taken to prison for drinking in a public place. After spending the whole night under supervision, the spoilt brat, decides to call Sahir to bail him out.
But, guess what? Madame Tooba, is sitting right in front of Sahir at this very moment, rolling her eyes at the same job that she was just about to accept, from her best friend’s husband and walks out.
Jalal Mirza, now is another tough nut to crack and one of the strangest characters of the show. We later, find out that he’s fully aware about his son’s previous night’s advances. He fully ensures, that Taimoor is bailed out only in the morning, for his misconduct on public property.
Taimoor and his long-lost friend Bonny, are re-introduced in the story to pacify, Fakhra Begum. This is the same friend, whose father has suffered a whooping total of 16 heart attacks, before finally kicking the bucket, and his mother who has had another set of innumerable cancers. Its another story, that Fakhra actually believes Taimoor’s web of lies word-for-word.
Zareena, finally managed to come to terms, that her part in Wahab Ahmed’s life is now actually over, when she receieves the bitter sweets of the truth. The fear and resentment of her past, are now clearly seen on her calm and composed self.
The final nail in the coffin, was Jalal disclosing the actual reason for Taimoor’s absence from the household to Fakhra. The latter, is then instantly rushed to the hospital due to a sudden stroke.
What remains to be seen, is whether Rameen will manage to convince Tooba with her tears and sincere promises of friendsip, to advance herself willingly into the lion’s cage or will she find a way to turn the tide in her own favor hence escaping Sahir’s bitter repurcussions on her own life and to those of her loved ones? Will Zareena’s tears allow her the strength, to confront Wahab Ahmed?
Overall, this episode was paced pretty well. My only massive issue was the dance which actually , stings the viewer. Do we really need to see what happens behind closed doors of a newly married couple in the name of entertainment?
Here’s hoping, to see another improved episode of Manjali next week. Fingers Crossed.
