Oh boy. What a kerfuffle. Seriously, after today’s episode, the only word that is coming in my mind is: baytuka drama! I mean, really, kahan say kahan pohonch gaya hai yeh.
Sigh! Feels good to let it out of the system.
Anyway, so Kuch Pyar Ka Pagalpan returned to the screen after a gap of two weeks. After watching the promo, I had really very high expectations, but the episode fell way, way short. (I really need to stop all anticipation based on promos, now!)
Nothing much happened in terms of the story – in fact, the story has been going around in circles for the past couple of episodes. I do hope that Mujtaba comes to his senses and realizes how it feels to be unjustly accused of having an affair. The entire dinner fiasco orchestrated by Shimraiz has the potential to reunite Daneez and Mujtaba – let’s see how this happens. (Thanks to the promos, we already know what will happen – the only question is: how?)
The only scenes worth watching were between Kiran and Shimraiz – both seem to have fallen for each other and neither of them are willing to admit it, either to themselves or to each other. Shimraiz is still after Daneez mainly for the sake of his ego, while Kiran – as we know her – will NEVER give Shimraiz the satisfaction of admitting her feelings first, especially upon witnessing her Daneez-induced craze.
I had wondered the week before last if Daneez had made a mistake in not telling Mujtaba outright that she was alone with Shimraiz on that “dinner party” – however, overall, it was a double-edged sword as he would have reacted the way he did earlier in the episode today. The slap, as I see it, was spot on! The comment about going and searching for rooms was not – it was rather mean. Considering the overall relationship between Daneez and Mujtaba, I would say the fault lied in both. If Mujtaba lacks trust, Daneez has an overdose of “I”. I would like to see how they both resolve this. Strangely, the “money” factor no longer comes into discussion – I am wondering how and when did that happen?
Kiran and Shimraiz make an excellent couple methinks, and I am looking forward to the upcoming episodes, only to find out how their story shapes out.
Before signing off, I will say something which has been gnawing at me since the past few episodes: I thought the entire drama serial was about Mujtaba trying to make it big in a foreign land – or was it? The cultural shock factor has disappeared since long (probably since he got engaged to Daneez) and there is absolutely no talk of his “plans” or “ambitions” – granted he is in a mess, but really, we don’t see him comparing Daneez to his colleague, Kiran, back in Pakistan. I had rather hoped we would see him missing his family life, missing his country, realizing that the grass isn’t greener on the other side, etc. etc. but all we have seen in the past ten episodes is how one girl after another gets after him (just as it was in Pakistan) and how Shimraiz carries out his evil plans to separate him and Daneez. Well, since the drama serial isn’t over, I am still hoping we will get to see at least something which will make us sit up and say: WOW!
