Drama Buff: The new title of this drama serial should be: Kuch Dimag Ka Pagalpan Bhi Tha

This chat made me smile throughout this week. And today’s episode proved, beyond a shadow of doubt, that the story is still as complicated as ever. (On the negative side, we still don’t know WHERE it is going and on the positive side, as I have said many times before, it makes us ALL exercise our brain cells).
Anyway, Mujtaba’s attitude towards Daneez took a 180-degree turn towards the beginning of the episode. But honestly, Daneez still needs to grow up. And it doesn’t help that Mujtaba and Daneez have ZERO chemistry. (Sorry all Aisha Khan fans, but her getup could have been a lot better). However, I really wonder at Mujtaba. He married his nemesis’s best friend. What was he expecting? Did he really think she would give up the friendship so easily?
Shimraiz is so growing on me. Really, towards the start of the serial I had wondered what this character is all about. Does he have any role to play apart from putting Mujtaba down and consorting with Daneez in her evil plans against Tania? However, in this episode, I once again LOVED his quips. Somehow, Mikaal is very much into his character, which makes Shimraiz hilarious and believable. He and Kiran will make a GREAT couple – of that I am one hundred per cent sure now.
Kiran is still burning with revenge – and it was kind of sad to see her sleeping in the park. Great direction of the two scenes, where she is sleeping in the park and Mujtaba is relaxing with Daneez. And of course, now we know what Kiran slipped in Mujtaba’s pocket – a bug. I am loving the use of technology in this drama serial – hats off Samira ji! Too bad it was a bit short-lived as Shimraiz now has Mujtaba’s jacket.
Overall, a pretty hilarious episode thanks to Kiran and Shimraiz. And who can forget the awesome “Daneez nay diamond banaya” scene. However, my one peeve is that almost all the scenes were very, very, very long. Really, it was getting too boring in the end. But after the disaster of the previous week, this episode was definitely more light-hearted. I do hope the story picks up next week, though.

PS: Did anyone notice the continuity issues? Mujtaba alternates between Chachi and Aunty. And Kiran’s hairstyle is also alternating.
