I am speechless. Today’s episode of Kuch Pyar Ka Pagal pan was amazing, to say the least. My niece and I were at the edge of the sofa, rolling over with laughter most of the time.
Fawwad Khan MUST receive an award for his spectacular performance throughout this episode. He was the un-suspicious Mujtaba who had no idea he was being led on by the evil duo of Shimraiz (Mikaal) and Daniez (Ayesha Khan). He fell for the Taniya trap because he still wants to marry someone who would increase his prospects. Then, he looked no less than an action ‘hero ‘ when he made his ‘hero’s entry’ and took his family as well as the viewers by surprise. Finally, the way he confronted his uncle’s family and made a dignified exit was heart-wrenching. I am sure all the viewers were taken on a roller coaster ride throughout the episode, wondering what was going to happen next.
I must say Kuch Pyar Ka Pagalpan has received some unfair criticism over the weeks. I do hope that with this week’s stark improvement in the picture and sound quality as well as direction in general, loyal viewers will heave a sigh of relief. Almost everyone did an excellent job. And although she got only one scene in the whole episode, Kiran’s (Sanam Baloch) expressions were very poignant and left one wondering what else is there to her life? I am sure we are about to find that out next week.
I have said this before but will reiterate: I love Samira Fazal‘s characterization. In today’s episode, Shimraiz has finally begun to realize that Daniez is going way too far in her jealousy. Taniya, it turns out, is not really as ‘perfect’ as she seems to be. Daniez has more evil intentions than we would like to believe.
This episode marks yet another change in Mujtaba’s foreign life. Next week’s episode would surely be a must-watch. In the meantime, I will watch the hero’s entry again on YouTube for some much needed comic relief.
Hats off to Fawwad Khan, Haissam Hussain and Samira Fazal!

PS: I have no idea why some viewers still think that what is being portrayed is unrealistic. I would just like to say: a playwright really knows his/her stuff – at least, most of the time. I am dead sure an excellent writer like Samira Fazal would NOT have created such characters if she had not known them to exist. Honestly, playwrights don’t create characters out of thin air and it is VERY obvious when they do. All characters in this drama serial so far are extremely realistic, in my humble opinion.
