Khuda Dekh Raha Hai has become extremely intense over the last few episodes . It started off really well with a very strong subject and a good script , but I feel that the writer has tried to touch too many evils of our society in just one play. I really liked it for bringing into focus the issue of fake istikhara , and the visible discrimination between sons and the daughters in our society , where girls often have to sacrifice a lot for the happiness of men in their family. In the last two episodes of this play ,Zoya is subjected to the worst possible maltreatment at the hands of her husband and her inlaws . Despite being divorced , she is forced to live with her husband in the same room and is not even allowed to raise her voice against any kind of cruelty inflicted upon her .
She tries to confront her husband on various occasions but in vain . She is badly trapped in this ugly relationship and the sad part is that her own mother discards her version of the story as the figment of her imagination. This is hard to believe that despite having an overly concerned father and a so called religious mother , Zoya\’s predicament is not being understood. In the 15th episode , Junaid has finally come back to sing in the event where Zoya is introduced as the CEO of a fake NGO by her in- laws . In the current circumstances , Junaid seems to be the only ray of hope for Zoya. I absolutely have no problem with the issues raised in the play as they all are real and very common in our society . In fact , sometimes the real stories that happen behind the closed doors are much more horrendous than the fictitious ones .
Domestic violence , forced marriages , marital rape are all rampant evils of our society and I am glad that these issues are being brought up in our plays but the only complain that I have is that the writer has tried to squeeze so much in one play ,which has made the play too intense and nauseating at times , especially the character of Zoya which is quite similar to that of Rameen in Chup Raho .
As far as the acting is concerned , all the actors have done a great job especially Imran aslam as Adnan is superb . Sajal ali is briiliant as Zoya but she should not confine herself to such weak roles as she has a great potential to perform bigger and powerful roles . Despite being overloaded , I still want to praise the writer and the director for drawing our attention to such ugly and bitter truths of our society .
