Being a huge fan of this wonderful Site, I thought I should definitely give blogging and reviewing dramas a chance. After the huge success of Humsafar on Hum Tv, many viewers tend to watch Hum Tv dramas than other television channel dramas.
To be quite honest, when the promos for Khoya Khoya Chand were released, I was actually quite anxious to watch this drama. This drama is based on the successful novel, “Ye Lamhay tere Naam Karien” by the talented Faiza Iftikhar. The OST was catchy and cute and I thought Ahsan Khan did a great job for singing for the first time. Huge props to him.
However, the drama is turning out to be quite a disappointment. I am a huge fan of Faiza Ifithar’s writing. She writes amazing romantic novels. As for the director, Fahim Burney. I had huge expectations from him, after all the success he received from directing the play “Yahan Pyar Nahi Hai”. Perhaps he can surprise me in the upcoming episodes. I still have faith in him.
As for now, we are on the eighth episode of this drama and the story is still dragging. The drama revolves around Araib (Ahsan Khan), Ahmareen (Maya Ali) and Anganbeen (Sohai Ali). Araib falls for Ahmareen at “Love at first sight” while Anganbeen is in love with her cousin Farooq. Sorry I have no idea what is this actor’s real name. Perhaps, somebody can enlighten me. Anyways Araib and Anganbeen get married due to the parent’s desires. Neither of them know each other’s feelings or about their true love. Araib lives in Muree alone while his parents live in Islamabad. After marriage, Anganbeen moves to Muree with Araib. However, neither Araib nor Anganbeen are happy, but they both pray to God that may they forget their true loves and begin a new happily life together. As much as both of them try to live a successful life. Something always comes up in the way.
Araib is a very quiet reserved and obedient son. He’s the ideal son in law now a days for his humble character and caring personality. He does not like to have any disputes and tries his best to make everybody happy even Anganbeen. Poor guy.
As for now, Ahmareen, the younger sister of Anganbeen is engaged to Farooq. Ahmareen is a very immature and impulsive person. I think Maya Ali is doing a great job portraying such a live and bubbly character. The energy and bold statements she says surprises everybody but also makes everybody love her at the same time. On the other hand, Anganbeen is expecting a child, she knows this is a good excuse to stay at her parent’s house to find a way to end her sister’s engagement to Farooq. The poor woman can’t face to see her true love be married to her own sister. This will make her and Farooq brother and sister in law, which is something she cannot bear to accept.
Overall, I think Anganbeen is doing an okay job portraying a broken hearted woman. To be quite honest, I don’t think Ahmareen and Farooq will end up being happy. They are no match for each other.
Araib and Anganbeen gave up their wishes for their parent’s happiness, I’m sure God has something great planned for them. After all, God gives the most pain and trouble as a test to the people He loves the most. I hope this story moves along faster. Some things to think about are:
Do you think Ahmareen and Farooq will end up being happy?
Do you think Araib and Anganbeen will ever find out the truth about each other?
Do you believe in true love and love at first sight?
Something to ponder upon is: The wise elderlies once said, “If you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you, then that is your true love.” So we have no idea where this story can lead to…
I apologize for this long review. It was so much information summed up in one review. Please do leave feedback and opinions on how to improve. In’Sha’Allah I will try to keep up with this drama weekly.
