Aarzoo! Aarzoo! Aarzoo! I hate to admit this but your mom was spot on when she said you shouldn’t have introduced Kiran to Sikander. How would she react if she ever found out how much you talk about Kiran in front of Sikander!
Okay, don’t get me wrong! I have no issues with ladies introducing their friends to fiance-to-be. But honestly, to talk about them so much is a complete no-no! Sikander might not have given Kiran a second glance but Aarzoo’s incapability to string two sentences together without bringing Kiran in, coupled with Kiran’s blunders on Shoaib’s mehendi day has set in motion the string of events that promise to make next week’s episode a very interesting watch.
This week’s episode was definitely entertaining; there is no doubt about it. From Aarzoo and Sikander’s “dates” and Kiran’s vegetable garden, to Iram’s engagement to Shoaib’s Mehendi, I did not forward a single scene today! The scenes were short, the story moved forward, and there was the right balance of pensive and hilarious moments. Kiran’s household is justifiably outraged that they were to be to invited as regular guests to the family wedding, and in retaliation, did not bother to inform anyone about Iram’s engagement until it had happened. I was only wondering why the men in this story are so conspicuous by their absence. We heard so much about Shoaib, wondering who he was and finally, got a two-second glimpse in the second episode. Today, we never got even a second’s look at Iram’s fiance.
Story-wise, the narration was smooth. However, the only thing that does not make sense is why Sikander is so besotted by Kiran – only because he has heard Aarzoo talking about her so much? Surely, a couple of seconds’ chance meeting doesn’t count. Although I loved their scenes today, this question was buzzing at the back of my mind. Maybe, we will find out more in the next episode!
Before I sign off this short review, here is a sincere request: Can we PLEASE have an episode in which we don’t have to jack up the volume the minute anyone starts talking and hastily hit the remote to lower the volume the minute the background score sounds? Honestly, this is getting really annoying. Loud background music plus low sound quality is literally destroying the experience of watching the episode on television!
That said, a good job this week by Aabis Raza and his team! I am glad to see the pace pick up and hope it is maintained.
Dialogue of the day: “Iram kee Shaadi sar par hai; kahan bithaon gee Baration ko? Yeh tumharay aaloo baingan tamatar par baithan gaye?”
