Last week we were discussing that Hina Bayat and ZQ are given the roles of mothers of hero and heroine and they don\’t even look the part. The people playing their kids are almost the same age as they are and today joining this list is Farah Shah, she is playing Joya\’s mother. When they could easily be given the roles of sisters. I wonder, why the directors and producers don\’t see that when they cast actors.
Anyways, coming to the latest installment. I am really very happy with the pace of this drama, the story is smoothly moving forward without any hiccups. Earlier I thought Shujjat was simply a jerk who had nothing better to do with his time so he was harassing Manaal. But now we know, he actually wants to marry her and according to him, he is in love. I would have had some respect for the guy and his feelings only if his love for Manaal was genuine. He dosen\’t keep in consideration her feelings or her aspirations for her future. The only thing he wants or he thinks he wants is to be married to her and that is it. His limited thinking dosen\’t go beyond this point. Even when his mother tries to talk some sense into him, he walks out.
The apple doesn\’t fall far from the tree, in Khabasat Shujaat is his father\’s son. As soon as he found out about Manaal\’s nana\’s fortune, his plans just took a turn for the worst. Now he wants to marry Manaal and then blackmail her nana into giving her, her mother\’s share of the property. The only good thing that came out of all this plaining and conspiracy is that Saliha and her mother were absolutely furious with the idea of Shujjat marrying Manaal. As it turns out, both these ladies had plans of their own about Shujjat\’s marriage. So, for now, they believe this is all Shabnam\’s doing and they are totally mad and I am loving it :)
Manaal is blissfully unaware of all these developments. She is still trying to understand why her mother had broken all ties with her own father and she got her answers from her mother\’s diary. Shabnam is a sensible woman and a very dur-andaish phoppo. She knew from the beginning that it was only a matter of time before Manaal would have to move out of her house and for that reason she has been trying to convince her to give her nana a chance. Manaal is still naive to an extent. She dosen\’t understand the simple fact that even if she dosen\’t have any interest in her nana\’s fortune, it doesn\’t mean nobody else would find out about it and try to cash in on it. That is gonna make her life a lot harder and this is exactly why Shabnam is trying to get in touch with Hamdaan Shah.
With the 6th installment we got to see Diam in action. The man is Hamdaan Shah\’s right hand. Although he is adopted but Hamdaan Shah trusts him more than his own children and that is the reason why Diam is so unpopular with Hamdaan Shah\’s family. But he is the only one who truly understands HS, and that is why he didn\’t tell him about Naila\’s death. He knew HS will not be able to bear this news, so he only gave him half the story.
Rahat and her daughter Joya have been living in HS\’s house for 10 years and Joya is engaged to Moyed, HS\’s heir. But they still act as if they own the play and Rahat is practically running the household and interfering in every matter. I don\’t understand why her sister let\’s her act this way. Joya\’s is least bothered with her engagement and she dosen\’t care much about her soon to be in-laws family. It would be interesting to see what will happen when Manaal enters this house, where everyone\’s primary concern is their share of HS\’s property.
Liaquat is a creep and he is determined to get some money from Manaal\’s nana ASAP and Shabnam is trying to make a desperate attempt at getting Manaal safely to her nana\’s house, where she would be away from Shujaat and Liaquat. But what Shabnam dosen\’t know is that HS\’s family has its own share of vamps, so Manaal will not be given a red carpet reception when she enters her nana\’s home.
The plot is organic and the actors are doing a brilliant job. I am glad this drama is a complete team work which is evident as we see a consistent standard week after week. So, for now, waiting to see how things will turn out when Manaal tries to make her escape from Shujaat\’s house and how will the Manaal-Diam track develop :)
