Meet the biggest cry baby on TV, Moeed. When it comes to feeling sorry for one’s self, indulging in self pity, making Rooney wali shaklain, repeatedly reminding everyone how bay-chara I am, Moeed is the winner, hands done. Although his whining, spine less father gives him tough competition but Moeed is not to be out done.
The show is being run by the female characters, the guys are there to fill the gaps, follow the directions and let the women tell them what to do. Shuja does try to do things his own way once in a while but even for that he needs the co-operation and support of one of the ladies in his family. Not saying it’s a bad thing but it does get tiring after a while to see so many submissive male characters.
So much can happen in just 24 hours. Manaal’s whole world has changed in just one day. Her story has taken a turn for the worse, she silently obeyed her photo and married Shuja. Obviously this arrangement did not sit well with Shuja’s phoppo and dadi but he was able to convince his father to support him by revealing his evil plans. He has married Manaal for her money and to get back at her. If this was any other drama and if Shuja had even an ounce of humanity in him, I would have hoped for the newly weds to gradually fall in love and have a happy ending . But knowing Shuja and seeing how eager he is to settle old scores, I am waiting for the ordeal to get over ASAP.
Diam was no where to be seen. He just vanished without a trace, that is so unlike the Diam we have known for so many weeks. He didn’t even try to contact Manaal, Baila or even the servants to find out how things are. Ahmed Sahab ( Manaal’s mamo ) didn’t even think about getting at the bottom of things, he simply sat their making ronay wali shaklain like his son. One daant from his wife was enough to get whatever little hamdardi he had in his heart for Manaal, out of it.
Last week, there was a moment when I felt that maybe Joya was ashamed of her conduct but sadly I was mistaken. These mother daughter have given the word shameless and selfish a new meaning. So much has happened but without even waiting for things to cool down, they have started working on their agenda. Joya is trying to entice Moeed all over again but this time, the problem is Moeed himself. He is so self absorbed that all her pleas are falling on deaf ears.
Things aren’t looking so bright for Manaal and the coming week may bring more troubles her way. I am not exactly a fan of the ” damsel in distress ” scenario, so here is hoping the story will move forward from this tension phase and we will get to see sun shine and rainbows soon :).
