Kaanch Ki Guriya…Episode 22

This episode as expected dealt with pain, sorrow, anger and conspiracies. By the time Manaal got home, it was too late. Her baba Jaan had died of a broken heart, her reputation was stained , without even given a chance to clear her position she was charged and convicted. Her punishment, exile.

Throughout this episode I sat back hoping for people to calm down, think rationally, Manaal to say something in her defense, Diam to come to her rescue, anything hopeful and positive but nothing like that happened. It started on a tragic note and ended on a tragic note.

we know our dramas are following the 30+ episodes practice, so the writers and directors have to stretch the story but still I was hoping for a more eventful episode this week.

Baba Jaan\’s sudden death left me with a lot of questions. I was under the impression that he would have a heart attack but would survive and be furious with both Diam and Manaal. Diam would be kicked out and baba Jaan would not even wish to see Manaal. After a while things would cool down, he would start looking into the matter, cause after all Manaal did turn up at her wedding. If she was eloping with Diam, they didn\’t have to come back not without a nikkah. So naturally, Hamdaan Shah would be suspicious and curious as to what really happened. After a little investigation, everything could have been sorted out and after finding out that Manaal and Diam did have feelings for eachother, he could have married them off.

Now that he is dead and in his final conversation with Diam over the phone, he accused Diam of betraying him, I don\’t see how Diam would forgive himself now. Even if Manaal is in a lot of trouble, how will he muster up the courage to come to her rescue when he would be feeling so guilty. Baba Jaan\’s words would haunt him now, the one thing he never wanted to do was to cause him any distress, now he would see himself as the cause of his death.

A few things from tonight\’s episode didn\’t sit well with me. Baba Jaan is dead, guests are still there and it is Rahat who has taken charge of everything. She is calling the shots now, while everybody else just sits there and watch. Nobody even thinks of waiting till Baba Jaan k Qul or his chaleeswaan before kicking his granddaughter out. Baila doesn\’t know everything but she atleast had an idea that Manaal was innocent, yet she just sat there with Manaal blaming herself instead of talking to her father about it. Manaal is heart broken but when the entire family starts accusing her and attacking her character, she decides to stay quiet, why ? She is angry and disappointed, she expected Diam to show up to clear her name he didn\’t come so now she is on self-destruct mode ?

After watching this episode, I can see Joya and Moeed with \” made for eachother \” written all over them. They both deserve eachother. Moeed has turned out to be such a cry baby, I literally wanted to slap him and scream \” snap out of it, get over yourself and act like a man \”. So, if Manaal has eloped, she has no right over her nana\’s property or his house, who gave these guys the right to Kick her out like that ? I was also expecting her mamoo to handle the situation but I guess he is just as spineless as baba Jaan thought him to be.

Sadly things don\’t look too good for Manaal, even in the near future. If Shuja ends up having his way, Manaal would have no hope for the future.
