This episode was more of a filler as the story didn\’t progress but none the less it was thoroughly entertaining, so I can\’t complain. Joya is still waiting for Naveed to come back so she can introduce him to her mother and get a green signal from her to call off the engagement. Poor Moid is hurt and angry but still doesn\’t have the heart k Aik hi baar main Joya say Saaf baat ker k maamla khatam karay, Manaal is head over heels in love and is trying every trick in the book to convey her feelings to Diam but so far no luck but finally she has been successful in convincing Baba Jaan in giving her her mother\’s room. That is the gist of this week\’s installment.
Like I said this episode was really entertaining specially the scenes between Manaal and Baila. These two are now officially Pakki Pakki sahaileyaan, to the extent that Manaal has even confided in her about her feelings for Diam. Seeing Baila going through so much trouble while reading Manaal\’s poetry was hilarious as well as thought provoking as a lot of young people from the elite class are fluent in English but get stuck while reading and understanding simple Urdu. Also Manaal\’s delima as how to convey her feelings to Diam was also amusing. \” mayre likhaie itni Gandhi hai k unhoon nay khat parhnay ki bajay mayre likhaie main keeray nikalnay sharoo ker daynay hain \” :). The dialogues have been a strong point since day one and still after 11 episodes, the writer is very successfully using the power of dialogues and conversations to make us laugh, cry and think.
As for making us think, I was thinking if Rahat was not a part of the Shah Household, Musarat would not be as mean as she is. She doesn\’t mind if Manaal inherits her mother\’s property and she is not as bothered by her presence now as she initially was. It is Rahat whose constant interference in her sister\’s house and family matters causes the friction between Musarat and her husband and father in law. It makes me wonder Only if our relatives would stop meddling in our lives and homes, wow what a peaceful world we would be living in :).
Rahat also was as rude as can be with Shabnam on the phone and I am really hoping Shabnam would not take her words to heart and stop calling to check on Manaal. Even though things are looking pretty good for her at this point, you never know when Manaal might need her Phoppo\’s emotional support again.
At this point I don\’t even know if Rahat is even loyal to her own sister or not. Joya wants to marry someone else, Rahat should at least tell Musarat everything and also that she is trying to talk some sense into her daughter. If she is really a well wisher then it makes sense to not keep her sister in the dark but instead she is waiting to meet Naveed first, then compare both Naveed and Moid, see who is a better choice and then finalize a match for her daughter. That seems more like a business transaction than a marriage.
I am confused about the mixed signals Diam is giving Manaal. Last week they had a conversation about why he was helping her and at the end of that conversation it was evident how Manaal felt for him, even he seemed to have feelings for her. In the recent episode however, he did not seem willing to show if he has any feelings for her, rather he was more like a guide or mentor and that\’s it. I can understand if due to his position in Hamdaan Shah\’s house, he feels he has to be reserved with Manaal but then don\’t give the girl mixed signals.
We have seen a lot of very good, strong and convincing performances in this drama. Everyone from Manaal to Diam, Joya to Baila, Rahat to Musarat have done a really good job and given one strong performance after another. The dialogues, body language and expressions everything was spot on. Everything is going really well for Manaal at this point and I am really enjoying a drama with no Rona dhona :). It\’s a sweet story of really likeable characters and their relationships with eachother, I am hoping it will be tension free for weeks to come.
