So after months of waiting, looking at Behind-the-scene pictures of the cast and crew, and trying to get as much information as possible from the Jackson Heights’ Facebook page, the serial is (almost) finally here…it starts Friday, September 19th on Urdu1! Directed by the brilliant Mehreen Jabbar, Written by the extremely talented Vasey Chaudhery,  and Produced by none other than  Humayon Saeed, Jackson Heights has the cast of the decade with Nouman Ejaz, Marina Khan, Aamina Sheikh, Adeel Hussain, Ali Kazmi, Adnan Jaffar, Monsoon Bissell, Ahmad Razvi, Alma Noos, Theo Golen, Taimur Syed, Taimoor Qureshi, and others. 

There have been 4 ‘teasers’ out and if you have seen them, you know this is already a hit. So far we know something has happened to Marina Khan over time making her bitter and angry, Noman Ejaz is a cab driver, Amina Sheikh has taken care of all of her family’s needs while ignoring hers’, and Adeel Hussain’s dream was to get to the USA no matter what he had to after getting here and he does, eventually get here.  I thoroughly enjoyed the teaser where Amina Sheikh gets into Noman Ejaz’s cab and we hear Ataullah Khan’s ‘Kameez teri kaali…’ Their chemistry is instant and I must say, Kudoos to Mehreen for always promoting Pakistani music in her dramas. I can’t wait for the OST though.

No need to comment on anyone’s acting as you can tell by the teasers that they are all at their best. Frames and shots have Mehreen’s name written all over it. All in all what we have been waiting is finally (almost) here. September 19th is the date to look out for!
