Thank You MJ for handling the issue of domestic abuse so maturely. Sikander is a text book case of a abusive husband; beat the crap out of your wife, then next morning make breakfast and ask for forgiveness…oh then go through her purse, find $3-4K and tell her you need to pay back a loan, when in reality you are really going gambling with ‘Kash chacha.’ (As a side note, I wouldn’t trust Kash with my 19 year old brother, forget their 12 year old daughter that they let pick up from school)! I’ve been saying this for the last 10 episodes, Amina Sheikh plays Salma, the abused wife perfectly! Her confusion on whether to give Sikander the money, wanting so hard to believe that he has changed even though inside I think she knows he hasn’t, wanting a father figure around Iman, even though she knows they are better off if he is in Jail. In her conversation with Alya, I’m not sure who she was trying to convince, Alya or herself of Sikander’s wanting to change. Wholeheartedly agree Alya that “Sikandar janwar tha, janwar hai, aur janwar rahega!!” I also found amusing that Vasay chose to bring the “mujhe lagta hai mujh pe jadu ker diya gaya hai, isi liye mein aisa ho gaya hoon…” Unfortunately this is the first thing that comes into a desi’s mind, when these things happen…No Sikander, no one has time to do jadu on you…koi itna farigh nahi betha hai…you are an abusive person because most probably you either saw your father do the same to your mother or your mother did that to you when you were a child, and you need severe psychological help! Speaking of his mother, Tai Jee better not forget that Alya’s salon pays her house bills, so perhaps she should cut the attitude with her!
Over to Bhatti Saheb…Sir, please grow up! Why he was giving Salma an attitude when she was trying to apologize I don’t get. His wife wants to spend time with him, wants them to get away as she thinks it’ll be good for them (the same wife who as per the lawyer he needs to keep happy for immigration purposes, might I remind you) and he says no cause he is thinking about Salma. Salma tries to apologize and he throws a toddler-like tantrum…seriously? And why is Salma going along with it is beyond me…she has enough issues going on in her life as is…if Sikander ever saw her with Bhatti, I don’t think he will be making her breakfast again! And if Kathy ever saw them together trying to cut a cake in the park, not only will he have more immigration issues, he also won’t have a house to live in!
Michelle and jamshed….Rizwan, come back, please!! This equation is just not working for me…not eve for the age difference, but everyone can see why jamshed is doing what he’s doing…he is following in his Mamu’s footsteps for some odd reason knowing how his mamu’s life turned out to be. Michelle is a strong, independent, and intelligent women; why she hasn’t been able to see through Jamshed is confusing me. Is mein bechare cabbies maare jaenge…they got the zarda with a very polite Michelle today, but when she finds out the truth about Jamshed, koi meetha nahi milne wala dobara! Also, when Jamshed got his first pay check, she was helping him find a way to wherever he wanted to go that night and she did state that she was married and divorced, so why was that brought up again in her apartment? Chalein, even if it was, why was Jamshed so shocked to hear it, again? Editing perhaps? I just don’t like or trust Jamshed…he played with Aasma in Pakistan and now that she is no longer available, he is playing with Michelle. Again, Rizwan, please come back!!
Like I said last week this episode might be turning point to take the story forward, and I’m thankful I was right. As usual the actors were great, but this was really Salma’s episode…Amina Sheikh owned this one! Lets’ see what happens next!
