I have been praising this drama since day one. Yes, the story isn\’t anything we haven\’t seen before but the casting, acting, direction and overall presentation made this play a good watch. But his week, I am a little disappointed because of the whole Hamza-Arsala episode.
I will come to that later. The story progressed to the point where we saw Zohaib and Dua\’s relationship becoming stronger. The scenes between Dua and Zohaib were cute and we can see they are in love.
Dua\’s friend Rida came to visit her and I was hoping to see Rida telling Dua everything about how Hamza contacted her and she gave him details of Dua\’s honeymoon destination etc. But Rida didn\’t even mention that chapter rather she just sat there and listened to Dua and realized that Dua was actually happy with Zohaib. What was the point of Rida\’s coming to Dua\’s home then ?
Pasha Sahab\’s laraie with Dua is being prolonged, I wonder if there is any particular reason for that. When Dua is happy with her marriage, she should let her parents off the hook. What\’s the point of emotionally and mentally torturing your parents when you know for sure that their choice was the best and they were so right about Hamza. Dua is just being stubborn. She didn\’t even show any concern about her father\’s health when she went to see him and even after that didn\’t even bother to call him and ask about his health. Her behavior is unjustified.
Hamza lied to Asad when he told him that he has gotten over his break up with Dua and has moved on. He knows Asad would not be happy with his new plans and that makes me question Hamza\’s sanity. If he truly believes that he is a victim and is justified in getting revenge then he should not hide his intentions from his one and only friend. But if he is hiding his plans then he must know what he is doing is wrong, then why do it ? Up till now, this was a grey character for me but now he is getting darker with every passing episode.
Now coming to the whole Hamza-Arsala Episode. I have sooooo many problems with this. Firstly what is wrong with Khala ? A man she has never met, dosen\’t know the first thing about is sending her immature niece flowers, chocolates and cakes and she is not just OK with it, rather she is convincing Arsala that his intentions are pure !!! How does she know that ? Arsala goes to confront him and even then she doesn\’t even caution her, try to stop her or ask her not to go alone cause the guy could be a psycho. Why is she so casual about all this ? She knows Zohaib is busy with his work and now his attention is divided so her responsibiliy towards Arsala should double.
Then this entire \” Hit Formula \” of Impressing The Girl that Hamza used was just so nauseating. Why can\’t our writers and directors show young people some normal and safe ways of interacting with the other gender ? I mean, seriously. A girl should be impressed if a guy stalks her ? If he embarrasses her in public ? Creates a scene infront of her friends ? Pay her unwanted attention, forces her to stop on the roads, sends her flowers at her home ? In most sections of our society if a girl receives flowers from a secret admirer, it could lead to a permanent question mark on her character and reputation. We need to teach young men that when a girl says \” NO \” then No Means No. Persistence dosen\’t make you a hero. If after such behavior Arsala falls for Hamza, I would be so mad. Yes she is immature, emotional and naive but she dosen\’t come across as stupid. She should know better.
All in all it was an OK episode for me. Hopefully things will get better in the next episode and Dua will end her quarrel with her parents. I do wish instead of her Khala Arsala would confide in her brother, cause this is the time when she needs some sensible advice and since Khala isn\’t doing that for her then she should approach Zohaib.
