Not much happened to show the progress of the story in this episode but it was an entertaining installment. The acting and characterization has been the highlight of this drama so far. The story dosen\’t have anything new to offer but the presentation and execution is what makes it a must watch.
Dua and Zohaib are still not divorced. Clearly they have feelings for eachother but Zohaib dosen\’t want to force Dua against her will ( what a gentleman he is :) ) and Dua is so distracted by her parents deception that she is unable to think about anything else.
The scene between Dua and Rida was the one that proved to be a breath of fresh air for Dua. Like I said last week, the girl needs to have someone to talk to and someone to give her much needed, good advice. Although Rida is not my first choice for a sensible confidant for Dua but I guess we are gonna have to make do with her for now. The good thing was, we got to know what was going on in Dua\’s mind. By the way she has evaluated her own situation, I am glad to say she is on the right track and their is hope for her marriage yet. The one piece of advice that Rida did offer was \” Tum apni saari Zindagi aik ajnabi k saath Kaisay guzaro ge ?\” I mean, really ? Was she serious ? Majority of marriages in our society are arranged and people do end up marrying strangers but after the marriage takes place, you are husband and wife and there is plenty of time to get to know each other. There is no law, that states \” you absolutely have to marry a person who you have been familiar with for ages \”. It would have made a lot more sense, if she had asked Dua about how Zohaib treats her ? If he was a good person or not ? Had Dua been able to be happy with Zohaib if Hamza was not in the picture ? But then again, Rida is not exactly known for her sagacity.
From today onwards, I officially dislike Hamza. Ok, we get it he had a troubled childhood, we get it he was abandoned by his parents, we get it he has issues and life has not been fair but for crying out loud, grow up and stop feeling sorry for yourself. Everybody has got issues, that dosen\’t give you an excuse to stalk and publicly harass your ex and then blame her for complaining and getting mad. Get over yourself. Pyaar ka super hit formula, treat a girl with no respect, harass her, exploit her, stalk her, force her to get a divorce from her husband, boss her around constantly, be a complete control freak…if that dosen\’t win you her affections then she is a selfish, self-centered woman and you have every right to make her life hell. Her option, dosen\’t matter. ( If I didn\’t know better, I would say Hamza has all the makings of a psycho )
And in complete contrast to Hamza is Zohaib, a complete sweetheart. The very idea of divorcing Dua, breaks his heart and he can\’t hold back his tears. ( being the hopeless romantic and softie that I am, this validates his position as the hero in my opinion and he definitely deserves the Damsel who is truly in distress in this case ). He is holding on to the slightest glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe if he can let Dua know how much she means to him, she might give him a chance. The poor guy is torn between giving Dua what she wants ( divorce ) and doing what he wants ( trying to make his marriage work ). He is not in a comfortable position and at the same time, the consequences of the divorce are only adding to his worries. Being the sensitive and level headed guy that he is, he is concerned more about the impact of his divorce on everyone from Dua herself to Arsala, than his own happiness.
Dua confronting her parents and their attempts at making peace served to show Dua\’s growth as a character. Her priority in any relationship is no longer love. She is looking for someone she can trust and someone who would respect her and her decisions, that someone is Zohaib. It is from this point onwards, Dua realizes Zohaib\’s worth and her own feelings for him.
From the next episode\’s promos, we can see two things. Dua and Zohaib decide to make their marriage work, which puts a big smile on my face :). And the second thing, Humza clearly declares war against everyone he holds responsible for him being miserable, I guess that would be a long list.
So, waiting for the next episode.
