Halki Si Khalish is an offering from Adnan Wai Qureshi. The story has been written by Attiya Dawood. The story revolves around two families, where one belongs to Waheed. He has two daughters namely Rabia and Rania. Rabia is a responsible and a sensible girl whereas on the other hand Rania being the younger one is immature and outspoken. Rania is in a relationship with Behzad. Waheed is looking to marry Rabia and Behzad turns out to be her suitor, Behzad finds it difficult to tackle the situation, the marriage is fixed but due to Waheed’s not so sound financial condition he steals money to arrange the marriage but is arrested on the day of Rabia’s marriage who confesses his crime and later dies after learning about his daughter’s impending marriage being broken and the humility they had to face because of him. The second family is that of Rabia’s mamu, whose son Aamir is in love with Rania but she doesn’t love him back. Due to the turn of events, Rabia, Rania and their mother are forced to move to mamu’s house.
Since Rania never loved Aamir back, she refuses to marry him. Abida overhears Rania and Rabia’s conversation where former blatantly tells her she will never marry Aamir. Abida is hurt and very angry. She doesn’t miss any opportunity to taunt Rania, about how useless she is and she is daughter of a thief. Rania who is immature but thinks she is smart doesn’t use her brains while thinking, she decides to teach her mami a lesson by agreeing to marry Aamir but thankfully they are not getting married. I can understand Abida’s anger towards Rania but I don’t understand why desi women stoop so low to humiliate someone, she is well aware of the fact that Waheed is not a habitual offender and even if he stole the money there was definitely a reason behind it which we are all aware of but yeah she has to take out her bhadaas somehow.
I like how the story is moving forward at a decent pace, I mean it is neither moving forward too fast neither too slow. Mawra Hocane has been wonderful as Rania but Mehreen Raheel has kind of a disappointment so far, I am definitely expecting a better performance from her in the upcoming episodes. Direction has been good so far.
In next episode’s preview, Rabia has taken this bold decision of marrying the Principal (played by Javed Sheikh) of the school she is teaching at, the circumstances have compelled her to take such a decision, her mother of course is not happy because Javed is like 30 years her senior and it will be difficult for her to adjust with a man twice her age. I am definitely looking forward to next week’s episode because the story seems interesting and different.
