This was a fast pace episode, the story progressed smoothly and Gul-E-Rana moved with her family to her Taya’s house, where she finally came face to face with our bad boy hero :).
Kamal Ahmed very wisely suggested that Muneera and her daughters should move in with him and his wife as now they were his responsibility. The manner in which he made that suggestion was really sweet, he didn’t force his decision on his Bhabi and he didn’t try to emotionally blackmail her or anything, he simply said what he thought was the best solution of their problems; under the circumstances. I am also glad, Gul-E-Rana was quick to accept his offer and she summed up the details in just one sentence that it wasn’t a good idea for three women to live alone without a male member of the family. I am glad, cause the director and writer could have added some ” creepy neighbors or galli k gunday ” harassing the girls, now that their father is dead but thank God we were spared, so thank you guys :).
I have said it earlier, after Aziz Ahmed’s death GER has become her mother’s support system, she is all grown up, wise beyond her years. It was really nice to see a confident young woman, taking timely decisions, emotionally supporting her mother and sister and had a firm resolve of completing her education despite the hardships. While this girl is hesitant to ask her Taya to pay for her education, she still knows how important it is. At the same time, her ego and self esteem are really important to her, she will not stay for lunch at her darling Khala’s house if she feels unwelcomed by her khaloo. Sajjal has made GER her own, her performance is effortless and that is what makes it so easy for the audiences to feel for this girl, she is so likable.
Aziz Ahmed and Muneera have been protecting and sheltering their daughters from the harsh realities of life in more ways than one. They have never told them about their ” Kharoos Khaloo ” and their ” evil step phoppos “, while they might have their reasons for it, I think it would have been better if the girls had a slight idea about who their relatives are and what kind of relations their parents have with them. GER would not have been shocked at Khalil sahab’s reaction then, she would know what to expect from him and her phoppos.
Maria and Laila are constantly competing with eachother for Adeel’s attention, at times it all looks silly but there are also times when it is quite funny. Two grown up girls, trying tirelessly to impress a guy, whom I am not even sure any of them is even in love with. While the guy uses them both shamelessly.
Kamal Ahmed and Adeel are ” kaano k kachay “, both of them believe Kamal Sahab’s sisters’ ridiculous tales of how Shahida dosen’t treat them well, in her husband’s absence. Kamal Sahab has known his sisters all his life, he should know better and Adeel too knows only too well how greedy and manipulative these women are, so he should think twice before believing them. The sisters’ daughters have also inherited their mother’s nature and do not miss any opportunity of poisoning Adeel against his step mother and now against GER as well.
I am loving the way GER’s family’s condition is being depicted so realistically, each step for them is so important and heart breaking. After loosing their father, they had to face the financial problems, face an uncertain future and finally when they did accept Kamal Ahmed’s offer, leaving their home behind was heart breaking. The emotions and feeling were portrayed beautifully by all three ladies.
OK, so now coming to the most awaited moment :) ” Adeel and GER’s First encounter ” . Adeel’s opinion about who she is has been somewhat formed since Maria has already started poisoning him and as quick to judge as he is, he did’t wait for one moment before deciding ” GER and her family needs to put in their proper place “. With that intention he came home late at night and scared GER out of her wits. Again, she proved to be a confident girl and instead of fainting or anything like that, she confronted ” the chor ” and threatened him with a ” Bailan “, while abusing and threatening him verbally and screaming for reinforcements at the same time ( 3 cheers for our brave heroine ) . Adeel, who is normally so confident and in control was taken by surprise by this girl :). These two share amazing onscreen chemistry and I am anxiously waiting for the next episode now.
GER’s scenes with Aashir Bhai were really sweet. He is such a nice guy and I would have loved for her to end up with him but by the look of things, that isn’t very likely.
I have to mention the wardrobe, the stylists and designers have done a great job at dressing the characters specially Muneera and her daughters. Their dresses show their lower middle class status, their respective age groups and the values they believe in. The same can be said for the rest of the cast. While most of our dramas always love to dress up the ” other woman ” or the vamp in western wear, Maria is always dressed up in shalwar qameez, which is different in style from what GER wears and yes Laila is mostly clad in western wear but I guess, we can say that is her personal style and she is trying really hard to impress Adeel with it.
The editing still needs to be worked on and that one scene where GER is ( forced to sit in the boat for no reason at all ) was clearly faked. I mean, what was even the point of that scene anyways ? Other than that I have no complains, it’s all good.
