For the past 4 episodes I have been patiently waiting for this drama to ” officially start “. I have been patient, been making excuses, trying to rationalize, justify and explain things that were down right pathetic but enough is enough. GER ( the drama ) is on a mission to self-destruct; the story, editing, hero’s styling and most of the characters and performances are a complete waste of time. I don’t understand what were the writer and director thinking when they were shooting this serial, the flaws are so obvious. Did they not believe in the script themselves or did they think the audiences are so stupid you can just show them anything in the name of a ” romantic story ” and they would love it. I am sorry if I am being harsh but this drama currently has got nothing to offer. But since I have to review it, so here goes.

This was the 5th episode and like the last one, it was also a filler…the story didn’t even move a centimeter. We still don’t know much about Adeel, except for the fact that the award for the worst dressed hero should go to him and him alone. He has earned it, what is it with those Hedious jeans and tucked in V neck shirts…and don’t even get me started on that hair. 5 weeks have gone by and we still don’t know if he is a flirt, a playboy or a Moran. He has been leading his secretary on, flirting with his cousins, has a girlfriend and is now harassing GER…what is his problem ? This coffee handing over/spilling scene was painful to watch  ( as brief as it was ). Is GR his target cause he is simply bored or is he really taking an interest in her ?

By the way that coffee scene…GER went to get coffee for Laila, came back and she had coffee for everyone, even for people who came after she had gone to the kitchen…is larki ko ilhaam hota hai Kya ?

Again GER has to move out to the sitting room cause her Nazuk-mizag baihn can’t sleep with the lights on and GER still has to study. When these girls were living with their parents in Hyderabad, did they have separate rooms ? I think not, back then they shared their room and made things work but no…not any more…now Hania can’t sleep with the lights on, so GER has to move out to the sitting area to study BUT when Zafri comes to that room ( for some unexplained reason ) she is sleeping on the sofa, covered in a chadder. It’s not like she dozed of while studying, she was indeed sleeping. Does this make any sense ? Zafri has been hitting on her and she avoids him during the day, when she knows he is staying for the night, shouldn’t she be extra careful ?

The scenes between the cousins and Zafri and his family were a pain in the neck. There was no reason and logic behind those scenes and conversations, when Zafri was painting a picture of how he caught Adeel and GER red handed ( which was of course fabricated ) it was supposed to be a funny scene but I was forcing myself to sit through it. Yes, I did manage to smile when Samina Ahmed very innocently asked her son ” tu nay Kuch garm to paihna hua tha na ?”. These senior actors are doing a wonderful job but it is so sad to watch them doing such useless serials. These guys have seen better days of Pakistani drama, it must be so hard for them to work in these pointless dramas.

Editing as always was weak, scenes and conversations were disrupted in the middle. The dialogues were repetitive, the same things being said again and again by the phoppos and their daughters.

GER is getting along with Shahida and like her, we are also learning a little about the family dynamics of Kamal Ahmed’s house and family ( not that this information was new ) but what we learned through this conversation was that Shahida is now on good terms with GER. She is perhaps the only person in the family with whom Shahida is openly  discussing the family politics, this relationship could also be helpful for GER since she also dosen’t have anyone else to trust except for her own family and her Taya.

GER is frustrated by Adeel and Zafri’s constant unwanted attention, to find an escape she calls Ashar and plans on going to his house for a few days. While on the other hand Zafri’s mother is very cleverly planning on asking for GER’s hand in marriage for her nikamma bayta, hopefully, hopefully the story will pick up pace and we will get something to watch cause the way things are going right now, I don’t think I can take it much longer.
