After 20 weeks, it’s time to say Goodbye to Farwa. The drama that started off fairly well and promised us a different story and entertainment, gave us a predictable but tolerable ending. Although it was dragged and the story did loose its initial charm, the end was ok.
Googi has had enough and although he did try to come up with reasons to justify his ditching Farwa, the truth was he was in love with Silky. I also felt, like Farwa he too was uncomfortable with her family and Silky was someone he was more at home with. Maybe he was also insecure about his qualifications and knew Silky was the girl whose background was not as solid as Farwa’s, so with her he wouldn’t feel insecure, ironic as that was the very reason for which Farwa wanted to avoid marrying Junaid. Googi and Farwa are more alike than they know.
The way they parted ways was very mature. Rona dhona was kept minimum and they very easily understood where the other was coming from. Even though I have been hoping to see Farwa and Googi end up together, The ending was not too bad. Atleast, they decided to stay ” friends forever ” :).
I was afraid the ending will be clichéd and unfortunately it was, ” the good girl decided to stay with her husband “. Somehow our writers are still not comfortable showing the ” achi larki ” ending up with someone other than her lawfully wedded husband. Personally I am not a fan of ” Sir M and Farwa as a couple ” but still, as long as they both accept eachother for who they are, I guess it’s ok ” jub mian biwi raazi, to Kya karay ga Qazi “?
This drama gave us amazing characters like Googi and Tanveer. The other cast and characters were also talented and well developed but still these two were the most memorable. Googi alone kept the drama interesting, this character is so sweet and unique, some of his habits/dialogues were not what we would call classy and sophisticated, yet he was thoroughly genuine and likable.
In the end Sir M finally got the secret to Farwa’s heart and that way to ignore and insult Aasma Ghaznavi every chance he gets. The more he ignores her, the happier his wife will be and his priority is to keep his wife happy.
I was kind of hoping, to see a coming of age process in the course of this drama. To see Farwa grow into a mature, confident and independent young woman but that didn’t happen. She was the same happy go lucky girl at the end, whom we met in the first episode, the only difference was that at the end she was a lot happier. Tanveer summed it up for her parents when he advised them to just give her space and let her be herself.
It was good to see everyone sitting together and having fun at the end and I hope they all do accept Googi’s friend request and stay friends forever :)
