(Here goes the personality sketch of Ms. Farhat Ishtiaq, the new writer making waves from pakistan, This sketch is based on a 30 minute conversation with the writer herself , however majority of information was not asked directly rather deduced from psycho analysis techniques)
1. Farhat is one of many siblings. She has enjoyed a very memorable family life. Her home environment was very friendly. She has very cordial relations with her parents specially her father. She has a lot of cousins and enjoyed her child hood with them in various functions and gatherings. her family is scattered world over and many of her family lives abroad. her father was in PIA and she travelled extensively. she loves travelling and has enjoyed the various countries she travelled to with her family.
2. Her student life has been very eventful. she was not the genius and teacher’s pet sort of student. she was the kind which are very witty and enjoy the company of thier friends at school. she used to be her teacher’s nightmare but her academics were sound enough to let her stay out of trouble. she is very social and a “group maker”. In her student life she could very quickly become a magnet in her class to which a lot of friends would cling. She passed her education with relative ease but never excelled at it. She was very famous in her class for “tit for tat” sort of comments but she never insults other person or makes fun at other’s expense. She was not very extracurricular but loves to be viewed as a very literary person. The girl which would brag about books she haven’t read to her class mates just to look the intelligent one.
3. She is a hopeless romantic. the kind which cries at the tragic ending of films. The girl who while watching “Dhuwaan” cried when the Dawood died. the girl who wept at the end of titanic when Kate winslet saw Leonardo has frozen to death. “love is her inspiration and motivation”. She loves romance and watching it on screen or reading it in a novel. She hates action thrillers or Sci fi movies . She doesn’t like novels which are written for the sake of projecting the ugliness of life. Manto and asmat chughtaai would never make her reading list. She loves to read people like shafiq ur rehman and Mustansir hussein tarrar. She adore qudrat ullah shahab because ” Shahab Nama” is perhaps the most optimistic book of Urdu.For her our lives are beautiful because we have been bestowed with love and love makes it beautiful . She is not materialistic at all for her a good conversation and a good time with a friend is lot more worth than a sack of money. “parveen Shaakir” is one of her favourite poets but she also like to read amjad islam amjad
4. She is very optimistic. She loves to see the positive side of people. She believes in ” presumption of innocence” a rare quality in Pakistan. She believes people till the the time they prove themselves to be wrong. She never rules out a person to be completely evil.
5. She loves nature specially scenery . her Favorited place in her home would be her lawn where she has a lot of plants. Her dream home is in some valley where a waterfall is falling and she is surrounded by flowers. Her Favorited country would be ” Holland” (if she goes there) with all the tulip farms and lovely fields. She is also fond of buildings. Being an engineer she is attracted to buildings and she loves beautiful architecture. An icing of the cake is if the architecture is ancient too. Egypt is going to be her dream place to visit.
6. She is very informal in her dressing . she loves to be casual. she never wears the expensive party dresses or the heavy makeups. she would normally dressed in a simple dress with an informal pair of shoes preferably joggers. she loves to be that way and seem very accessible. She is friendly but not too much . She is never the one to start a conversation with a stranger but once the boundaries of formalities are with drawn she normally chatters and laughs a lot. she gets along with other females relatively easily rather than the male counterparts.
7. She is a dreamer. she never takes her life too seriously. she wants to see and enjoy the simple things of life and never gets too complicated.
8. She has been a teacher but she was never the strict disciplinarian type. she likes to get interactive with students give them freedom. she tries to impart education in an informal and friendly manner not by making them listen to boring and lengthy lectures.
9. She loves chocolate heroes. Wahid murad was one of her favourites hands down. Clark gable another one who impressed her. Gregory pack would be of her dream boys. She would idealize a male as” a handsome, fair complexion, good height, a military hair cut or crew cut, clean shaved. dressed in black shirt and black denim jeans, a pair of sun glasses and a designer wrist watch. she hates the hippy sort of boys with long shoulder length hair and dirty looks. the boy should be extremely witty and very smart too.
10. Over all, she is one lovely soul. who has been loved a lot because she deserves to be. every one around her is fond of her and enjoys her company.She is enjoying her life and has embarked on a journey of success which may make her see many mile stones and for us it will bring many wonderful love stories
