Faraar: Everyone’s Running But Can Anyone Truly Escape?

From the mean streets of Karachi to the hidden corners of Sheikhupura, Green TV’s Faraar has one thing in common—everyone is trying to get away. Mohsin is outwitting corrupt cops, Babrik is being shipped off under false pretenses, Batish is orchestrating a grand getaway, and Nazish is still running from her past. But in a world where every escape comes with a price, the question remains: Can any of them truly break free, or are they just running in circles.

As Faraar grows more interesting it’s also introducing some silly twists, testing the viewer’s suspension of disbelief. However, amidst the dramatic turns, some storylines are finally starting to connect.

Mohsin

Faraar’s newest wildcard, Mohsin Baig (Sami Khan), bursts onto the scene with rugged confidence. When a corrupt police officer offers him a way out—at a steep price—Mohsin doesn’t flinch.

But he’s no fool. Sensing a trap set by Azam Shah (Mehmood Aslam), he outmaneuvers the officers and makes a daring escape, sending a clear message: he’s always one step ahead.

Babrik

Back in Swabi, Babrik (Danyal Zafar) finds himself caught in a web of manipulation. His uncle, Haji Janan Khan(Hasan Norman), arranges for his illegal departure to Europe, framing it as an act of generosity. But beneath the surface, it’s nothing more than a ploy to separate him from his daughter. What seems like an opportunity is actually a calculated betrayal.

Fasih

In Karachi, Fasih (Ahmed Ali Akbar) continues his seemingly endless hunt for Batish (Hamza Ali Abbasi). After ten episodes of questionable police work, his team finally catches a glimpse of Batish in Sheikhupura.

Updating Sadia (Mamya Shajaffar), Fasih reminds her of their ill-fated deal: if he fails to catch Batish, he’ll resign. But in a dramatic twist, Sadia releases him from this obligation—because, surprise, she’s falling for him.

And just like that, Fasih’s mother’s matchmaking schemes start to pay off. She had secretly chosen Sadia as her ideal daughter-in-law, and now, fate seems to agree. Who knew Fasih’s investigative skills would lead him to capture Sadia’s heart instead of Batish? Well, at least he’s managed to catch something!

Batish

Meanwhile, Batish and Faraz (Haroon Shahid) plot their grand escape, relying on Chaudhry Wali’s (Faris Shafi) shady connections. Their storyline seems to be on a collision course with Babrik’s, as both are set to leave—but under very different circumstances. Batish is knowingly taking a risky illegal route, whereas Babrik is being manipulated by his uncle

In a rare display of vulnerability, Batish secures an untraceable phone for Faraz, allowing him to reconnect with his loved one. This phone call takes a moving turn when Faraz’s lady friend Shumaila (Maha Hasan) reveals she’s pregnant-and surprise! She’s his wife!

At this point, Faraz must be regretting every decision that led him here. If only he had followed the age-old wisdom: “Not my monkey, not my circus.” Instead, he jumped headfirst into Batish’s chaos, keeping even his marriage a secret from his so-called friend. Talk about a dysfunctional bromance.

Nazish

This episode peels back the layers of Chaudhry Wali’s past, revealing his Karachi roots and former allegiance to Azam Shah. But his real reason for returning to Sheikhupura? A woman.

The plot thickens : that woman is Nazish.

Meanwhile, Nazish’s (Sohai Ali Abro) return to her village forces a long-overdue confrontation with her mother (Iffat Omar). Nazish demands to know what happened after she left. Her mother’s response reveals a shocking truth: after Nazish killed her abuser, Makha, she buried his body and fabricated a scandalous narrative, claiming Nazish had eloped with him to Karachi. This stunning revelation sheds new light on Nazish’s troubled past and her mother’s desperate attempt to shield her.

Shakeela

Disappointingly Shakeela’s (Nadia Jamil) and her brother’s characters have been relegated to the background in recent episodes. After a long absence, we see Chaudhrani Shakeela’s (Nadia Jamil) brothers storm into a lawyer’s office, demanding information. The lawyer, who was present at Nazish’s wedding to Shakeela’s husband, hands them a file—containing Nazish’s address.

Hassan Niazi’s portrayal was compelling and strong, making his character’s absence even more noticeable. Hopefully, future episodes will revive their storylines and give these characters the screen time they deserve.

Brewing Romance

And now let’s talk about the episode’s masterpiece, courtesy of Fasih’s mother (Hina Khawaja Bayat). With masterful manipulation, she convinces Fasih that he’s head-over-heels in love with Sadia and conveniently Sadia feels the same way. Fasih, ever the obedient son, promptly trots back to Sadia’s house, apologizes profusely and pops the question. Because clearly the key to true love lies not in dating apps, but in being embroiled in a juicy crime scene. Who needs swiping when you can have forensic evidence and police interrogations? The absurdity is staggering.

Despite its flaws, the series remains captivating, and we’re eager to see what’s in store for the characters next.
