There were some interesting developments in these two episodes; the most important one being Bia’s decision to marry Shehryar with Paras. Initially I found Bia’s “obsession” with Shehryar’s marriage a little out of place but we know now why she thinks that Shehryar should have a life partner. She couldn’t get married because her parents passed away, therefore she doesn’t want that Shehryar should end up the same way. Her decision to marry Shehryar with Paras came as a complete shock to me because only a few days back Paras was only a potential kidney donor for Shehryar. No doubt she has a very strong bond with Paras but Bia played foul by not telling her about Shehryar’s condition. Her selfish attitude went to show that she is not that perfect after all.
I truly felt for Paras after watching these two episodes. She only decided to marry Shehryar because of her Taya’s unreasonable behavior and because she cannot imagine getting married to Sarmad but she has no idea what she is getting herself into. There is nothing wrong with marrying a sick man but not knowing about it isn’t right either. Sarmad’s “excuse” to marry Paras was just as lame as the one her father gave when he wanted to marry Paras’s mother. It is ironic that these two men judge Paras and her family all the time but at the same time they are dying to have stronger bond with them.
The bond between Paras and Sara is the only one that has truly grown on me. Sanam Saeed is brilliant as Paras and Sara Khan is also acting very well. Bia seemed more controlling in the last episode and I thought that there were many similarities between her and Raania’s father. She may have raised Shehryar like a son and has sacrificed a lot but that does not mean that she can treat him like a puppet. The relationship between the two should come across as warm and touching but somehow it does not seem that way to me at all.
The story of the play is getting interesting, some of the dialogues are very meaningful and deep but the overall feel of the play remains very dull because of the lighting and the background score. I really hope that the story is about much more than a middle class girl getting married to a rich boy and spending all her life trying to win his heart.
How will Paras react when she finds out about Shehryar’s condition? I am waiting to find out.
