Raqaas Has Some Terrible Parents

There are no slammed doors in Dilawar’s house. No loud music. No carefree laughter. Not even the simple pleasure of standing outside when it rains. Instead, everyone tiptoes. In Raqaas, Green TV’s latest exploration of honour, misogyny and domestic control, fear has become so thoroughly embedded in a family that

Hum TV Zard Mausam

Zard Mausam - Episode 13

I’m loving Zard Mausam and it’s ability to portray so much at the right pace, in simply one episode. I personally wouldn’t change a thing about today’s piece at all. Awesome performances, storyline, and directing! To start off, Waqar has finally come back after working overseas,...

Sharing is [NOT] Caring

Bachpan mein, I was taught beta share karna seekho, share karna acchi baat hai, sharing is caring ki nishani … there was probably a lot more that followed along those lines, but like Falak, I too was busy rolling my eyes, thinking chalo beta ab tau full on naseehatiyen shuru, to pay much attention. Nonetheless,...

Hum TV Maseeha

Maseeha – Episode 12

I found it difficult to sit through today’s episode because of a very weak script, unimpressive editing and performances that failed to impress. I am having a hard time coming into terms with all that happened in today’s episode, I definitely got the feeling that all of a sudden things are being rushed. Sherry’s...

Geo TV Sabz Pari Laal Kaboter

Sabz Pari Laal Kabooter - Episode 7

Zhalay Sarhadi totally outdid herself in today’s episode. Although she has been great as the bubbly and naughty Najma throughout the show but she was exceptional today. The kachookuma scene was just hilarious; Zhalay Sarhadi should do some serious comedy because she is a natural. I know this was no comic...

Bilqees Kaur Hum TV

Bilqees Kaur- Episode 15

Humor, pathos, familial tensions, misunderstandings, a romance eight years in the making, a straightforward blackmail, an impending marriage, and a countdown to a family reunion – all ingredients ensuring a lip smacking entrée were present by the heaps in this latest installment. Yes, this was yet another...

ARY Mera Saeein

Mera Saaein 2 - Episode 15

Wow. This episode was quite a turnoff. Even though this drama still has potential, I’m just not feeling it too much anymore. This drama is unpredictable, but at the same time, it’s getting a bit too exaggerated. The cast is performing extremely well, whether it be the major characters or...

Hum TV Shehr-e Zaat

Shehr-e Zaat - Episode 4

Oh, what tangled webs we weave, when we first learn to deceive … Walter Scott was probably not thinking of Falak as he penned these memorable lines, but seldom must’ve they applied as well as they did today, when Falak was deluding herself that Salman, a personification of her subconscious ideal,...

Express TV Sirat e Mustaqeem

Sirat-e-Mustaqeem - Episode 11

This episode was much better than the last one. It still didn’t have that usual Sirat-e-Mustaqeem charm, but it was definitely better than the previous episode. First of all, I want to say that I feel very sad because we have lost the childish and playful Mustaqeem :( The problems and the situation...

Hum TV Yahan Pyar Nahi Hai

Yahan Pyar Nahin Hai - Episode 12

Whoa! All of a sudden the story has picked up pace and travelling at warp speed. In this latest episode we went from Shumaila shamelessly throwing herself at an unbending Saim, to Shumaila’s hospitalization on account of an overdose, to a fighting match between Saim and Zunaira, to a still completely...

OLD Drama Reviews

Saas Meri Saheli (?!)

99.9% of our drama serials revolve around the basic themes of saas-bahu tensions, gharelu masle masail, pyar ki shaadi vs arranged marriage, shohar-biwi issues, khandaan ki izzat, and the oh-so-important duniya kya kahegi. Tired as we are of them, nonetheless there are some stories, which, with the right...
