Raqaas Has Some Terrible Parents

There are no slammed doors in Dilawar’s house. No loud music. No carefree laughter. Not even the simple pleasure of standing outside when it rains. Instead, everyone tiptoes. In Raqaas, Green TV’s latest exploration of honour, misogyny and domestic control, fear has become so thoroughly embedded in a family that

Bheegi Palkein Episode 2 Review

I wonder if after the pitfalls of the first episode the only way to go was up. I certainly thought that this episode was better than last week’s introductory episode. The episode opened with a ‘rishta’ scene which quickly moved to a ‘jhat magni pat biya’ sequence of events. However the path of love...

Farwa Ki ABC...Episode 16

Ok, this was a filler episode, the only new development was a letter that Silky left for Googi at his home, confessing her feelings for him and as expected, after reading it; Googi is now ignoring Farwa. Farwa is at her parents’ home and things are not quite moving in the direction she wanted....

Gul-E-Rana...Episode 2

The atmosphere at Aziz Ahmed’s house is gloomy, the entire family is still coming to terms with the loss of loosing not only a loved one but also the breadwinner of the family. It is heartbreaking to witness how heartless and down right cruel people can become when they can find an easy target...

Bheegi Palkein Episode 1 Review

Maybe Diyaredil has raised the bar for us all, but the opening sequence of this drama felt a bit ‘ unnecessarily filmi’. A mad shower of rain and some mindless conversation later, the two leads appear looking not drenched at all, inside the medical store. Please notice that Umer’s shirt was completely...

A PLUS TV Farwa Ki ABC

Farwa Ki ABC...Episode 15

This was a fast pace episode and by the look of things, the next installment will be the last one. Silky has taken Googi’s last tution class and Farwa has left Mustansar’s house with her mother; apparently for good. This has happened according to plan but what was not planned was Googi falling...

Gul-E-Rana...The Journey Begins

I have to admit, after ” Diyar-E-Dil ” my expectations from GeR were high, specifically after all the hype that was created by HUM TV. The promos also looked promising and the part of the play shot in Marree, AbbotAbad and NathiaGali promised it would be a visual treat. So, when I sat down...

Farwa Ki ABC...Episode 13 & 14

The main developments in these two episodes were Surriya Anjum’s entry at “Tootay Ki Naak Walay Sir’s Home “, ” Silky’s Growing Influence in Googi’s life ” and ” Farwa becoming more at ease with Master Sahab “. Surriya Anjum is a desperate woman,...

Geo TV Kaanch ki Guriya

Kaanch Ki Guriya...Episode 30

This was the second last episode and was more or less a filler except for one last twist in the story. After things had settled down, life was coming back to a routine and the Shah family started thinking about Baila’s future. In a house where there are two young girls of the same age, both facing...

Hum TV Mol

Mol- Last Episode

Emaan, tu agayi badnaseeb? What an absolutely fitting statement to sum up Emaan in a nutshell. 20 weeks ago, I took up Mol. I had no expectations when I began but a few episodes into the drama, I started appreciating Mol for being different. Emaan and Shereyaar brought forth a union of intellectuals...
