Tonight’s episode covered a great deal; the main focus being on Silla’s life five years after having her child Affan. Nabila decided to pay Silla a visit and that is how Silla found out that Zoya and Adeel were now married. Silla misses her child’s father more than her husband, like any other mother she wishes that her child had a father to love him when he comes into this world. But Silla is not willing to forgive Adeel and rightly so too. Even though Ahmer insists that someone should inform Adeel about his child’s birth, Silla is strictly against it. She still holds Adeel responsible for Affan’s death and does not want him to have anything to do with her child. Adeel, on the other hand is very willing to move on, he moves out of his old house on Zoya’ request. He misses Affan too; it was good to see that there actually is a human side to him! Adeel is certainly not happy with his life, sometimes I think he is incapable of being happy!
Ahmer stands by Silla as a true friend, his father wants him to get married but Ahmer won’t hear of it. His first experience was so bitter that he does not want to take any more chances. He keeps himself busy with work so that he won’t feel lonely. Ahmer is a very important part of Silla and Affan’s life. Even after so many years Silla hasn’t forgotten or completely gotten over what happened. Sami works for Silla’s company now and Nabila and Silla are good friends. Silla is surrounded by people who genuinely care about her, even those people who were once Adeel’s friends.
This was another fast paced episode of Dil-e-Muzter and all the different tracks were nicely covered. Sanam Jung failed to impress me in this episode as well; her acting has not been up to the mark lately. It is good to see Saba Pervaiz play a good mother for a change, a good break from all the evil characters we have been watching her playing. Aijaz Aslam, like someone pointed out in the comments section last week, is wooden! Imran Abass tries to do his best but the fact is that his character doesn’t have much to offer. We are all supposed to hate Adeel for being the way he is and yes I do see him as a loser who just couldn’t do any better, so that would mean that he is doing a good job. Sarwat Gillani has been spot-on right from the beginning and she looks great too. I really like how she has added color and life to Zoya’s character. Rabia Naureen is another very talented actress whose portrayal of the annoying and nosy mother is just perfect. Aliya Bukhari’s script till now has been very happening and engaging, the story did not stall for a second even. Every episode has something new to offer. Shehzad Kashmiri has done a brilliant job with the direction; definitely a very good first effort, I am sure that he will go a long way. The production values are great as usual; we do not expect any less from MD productions. I do wish though that everyone had changed a little in the past five years, everything, even the hairstyles are exactly the same. The child star playing Affan is simply adorable and I loved his confidence.
The preview for the next episode showed that Affan and Adeel’s paths will cross in the coming episode. I am waiting to find out how Adeel’s life has changed in the past five years since we didn’t get to see him today in the later half of the play.
