Brilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant! And simply brilliant! The fifth episode was great!..What can I say…hmmmm…everyone’s performance was great and so natural. Indeed, I can certainly say that this serial is different from any other made previously. This episode particularly depicted the true face of our society in which we live nowadays. Where there is hatred, jealousy for each other and where we are succeeding in creating tensions and misunderstanding in others lives. Anyway I will comment on this later in my review but first of all let me praise everyone’s acting! Coming to performances, all of them come out with convincing portrayals yet I was particularly impressed by Faisal Shah’s performance. If I remember his performance in Dil diya Dehleez was amazing in which he played the role of the protagonist ‘Bari’ who was characterised as someone who knew his limits as well as having a very patient, mature and a caring personality. In Daam his role is the total opposite! And yet once again, Faisal Shah has managed to deliver a natural and brilliant performance! Another strong character is of Behroz Sabzwari. His role as the number one hypocrite in the society is great. Everyone played their part amazingly well, and if I start mentioning all of them I am sure I will get told off by the administrator of this site;)
Finally it has been revealed it in this episode that it is Asma (the eldest daughter) who is financing Zara’s studies and not to forget all the moral and financial helps provided by her best friend Maliha and her family. This made me think and realise that what is the point to have some relatives who does not help us but are only there to constantly criticise us. Indeed, a new and interesting character was introduced in this episode, Haaji sahab’s wife. ‘Aur woh nikli Haji Sahab’s se do kadam age’. Amazingly enough she managed to see that Zara’s was wearing an outfit which is worth 2000 roupies but did not notice that her sister in law’s house needs renovation! I chuckled when she asked Zara how much she was getting paid from her part time job. Why is she so curious to find about Zara’s salary? Well the response is straight forward JEALOUSY!! And when she saw that she did not succeed in upseting Zara she criticised her profession by saying: ‘dozogh doctoroun se bharri hogi!’ ah ah ah ah! What a joke! Well sadly enough this is not a joke, this is actually the true reality and reflect of our society nowadays.
I was in a real anger when inhi rishtadaroun ne Zara pe ilzam lagaya…and baap ko to ek bahana chahiye tha ghar mein ladai ke liye. However, Asma’s response to her father was very powerful when she said: ‘Jab baap ko hi betioun ki izat ka khiyal hi nahi to mamoun ko kiya ho ga!’ . My question is why doesn’t Shohaib drop her cousin sister to the medical centre himself instead of telling and making a big stir up in the family!!!!
Moreover, I just don’t understand why the mum has to give so manyexplanations to her brother when he does not even help her financially neither provide her any moral support!
So to sum up, well done to Umerah Ahmed and Mehreen for depicting and revealing so well the true face of our society!
Finally coming back to the relatives issue I am sorry if some of the readers find my comments a little harsh but I would like to say that: Aise rishtedaroun ka darwaza band kar dena chahiye jo aap ki betiyoun ke upar ilzaam lagate phirte hain, jo app hi ke ghar akar aap ko apni khurbat yaad dilate hain, aur apni jhuti shaan ke dhandore pithte hain!
