It is a debut novel of Rainbow Rowell. It has 3.96 ratings (almost 4) on Goodreads.com.
It starts from Beth Fremont. When she sent email to her friend Jennifer Scribner Snyder. Beth and Jennifer both are in the same company and in their free time they told their stories to each other. When friends talk with each other their conversation is no more than a comedy play. So it happens with them… they talk hilarious, stupid and serious sometimes but most of the time hilarious.
Red flagged? Wait… are their emails in the eye of the security checker? Yea that’s Lincoln O’Neil who is the security checker in their company. Reading their funny emails makes him fall for her (Beth). He falls for the hilarious one, very clever he is and he reads their emails; enjoy their conversation, he laughs sometimes sitting alone in the IT room. Apart from that it contains some good love quotes.
“He was a magnet and I was steel”
“Every woman wants a man who’ll fall in love with her soul as well as her body.”
Another thing I love about is that Lincoln’s mother make delicious dishes for him and she always offer food even when she is offended by him. How sweet!
It is a very light novel, no such twist in the plot. You can easily guess the end. If you want to change your mood, just peek into the emails of two friends Beth and Jennifer. Their stories are hilariously interesting. If the writer has not write in a funny way, this book would not have gained much attention; it is a well written book. I like how it ended, a romantic end.
It has 89 chapters, I wonder why not 90. Chapters are not very long; some are even with one page only.
Just give a peek into Beth and Jennifer’s conversation… believe me they talk hilariously interesting.
