The latest development in the drama is Manan’s arrival and his introduction and reaction to everyone and everything we already know. It is the 19th episode and the pace of the story is considering slow, no new twists have been introduced for a while now. I am not saying it has become stagnant but it is moving more like a lazy river; the movement is slow, steady and peaceful. Saba is also getting married but her story has also lost its excitement for the moment. I guess the new developments we can look forward to is Manan-Hamna track, let’s see how that turns out.
For Haider and Mishal, Ravi chain hi chain likhta hai. They are still in that honeymoon period of their marriage, their scenes are sweet but there was nothing new. We have been watching the same lovy dovy couple for the last few weeks now. It was wise of Mishal to inform Haider about ” the chori” , instead of keeping it to herself it was sensible of her to let her husband know the reality. It not only removed any suspicion he might have had about his uncle but also it was good to not keep any secrets about meeting Qadeer.
Mishal’s reaction at seeing her brother after so many years was very touching and believable. Their scene was authentic, although the actor playing Manan is new and inexperienced ( it becomes very clear when he is sharing screen time with someone as talented and experienced as Saba Qamar ) but this scene was still done very well. The brother sister reunion was touching.
Manan’s arrival has introduced us to a completely different side of his mom. She is actually making tea and breakfast for her son. Atiqa Odha owns this character, she has made it her own; giving it just the right amount of vulnerability, snobbish attitude and despite of everything has managed in making it lovable. She is now looking forward to getting her son married and living in the same house with him and his family. Try as she might, she is not any different from a typical middle class woman her age, deep down inside she longs for a family. Perhaps that is the reason why she is inviting Mishal and her inlaws for dinner.
Hamna and Manan’s introduction was quite filmy, the misunderstanding, the angry, aggressive heroine, the cool hero, then the poor heroin apologizing for her misbehavior and it all ended in her ” sharma Jana ” and leaving the room. Aasaar bata rahay hain, we have another wedding at our hands. But still it was good to see Mishal handling the situation and explaining Manan’s behavior to Hamna.
Saba is not happy with her fast approaching wedding. I was under the impression that she simply disliked the guy but now it appears she still has feelings for Haider. This girl is unpredictable, you never know what to expect from her. I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping she dosen’t create any more problems for anyone.
Other than that, I don’t think there was anything worth discussing in this episode. The drama is still worth watching but I do hope they either increase the momentum or wind it up soon. I would hate to see the story being dragged.
