Wow! I absolutely loved this latest installment, what an amazing twist in the story. Hats off to Samira Fazal for the brilliant script, I must say that I never saw that coming. Every little thing was beautifully done and this episode belonged to Zubeida for sure! Zubeida proved today that she can take the most extreme measures and bear anything in order to keep her pride intact. Zubeida will never let Firdous win; she will not give her that satisfaction even if it means ruining her own life. When Zubeida came to her Husband’s rescue, I did not for a second think she was thinking about Farman, she was only thinking of herself as she later says “jo kuch mei kur rahi hun apni izzat aur waqar ke liye kur rah hun”. The fact is that Zubeida will never allow anyone to make fun of her or to feel sorry for her. Firdous tried very hard but in my eyes Zubeida was the winner in the end although she lost everything in order to prove everyone’s fears wrong. Although Ghazanfar finds it hard to believe but Firdous was so right when she told him that Zubeida did everything to prove Firdous wrong. Ghaznafar respects Zubeida because us ne apne shohar ka naam badnam nahi hone diya but that is just his wishful thinking.
When Zubeida took all the responsibility for Farman’s marriage it was almost impossible to believe that this was the same woman who was threatening her husband of dire consequences just few minutes back if he did not divorce his second wife. It was almost funny the way Zubeida says that she did not tell everyone earlier because no wife would understand the situation because all the other wives in the family are so controlling!! But seriously who is Zubeida fooling, she is getting carried away, although everyone knows that she is covering up but no one can do anything until she admits she needs help. Zubeida does not think about Sharmeen for a second while making this decision. But I must say Farman sahib just hit a jackpot…what more can a man ask for!
I mentioned in my last review that I would be very disappointed if Riffat goes back to Shakeel but I am so glad that she did. Firstly, because Shakeel admitted he was wrong and secondly because Riffat proved today that she is a very good person. She forgot all about her own problems and wanted to be there for Bari Apa. She did not for a second find pleasure in the news of Farman’s second marriage the way Firdous did. Riffat is probably the only woman in the play who does not have double standards.
My favorite scene from today’s episode had to be the one when the entire family goes to Zubeida’s house for “condolence” and Zubeida gets up immediately to call Ghazanfar before doing anything else. The entire scene was wonderfully done. Today’s episode belonged to Savera Nadeem for sure; she is such a gifted actress. And a very special thanks to Saife Hassan for the excellent direction.
This episode was simply mind blowing and I loved every second of it. I can’t wait to find out how the story unfolds.
