Rohail Mehru say shadi kerna chahta tha per zaibu say ker leyta hai . mehru bilal say shadi kerti hai per kehti hai kay yeh uss ney gaoon kay logo kay liye shadi ki aur chinki aur zaibu behan bhai hain q kay zaibu nay uss kay hath per rakhi band di hai per duno gf bf ki acting ker rahay hain . bhai nahi.. abb mujhy nahi jeena. I don’t want to live anymore :)
Okay let’s get more sensible now. I had on purpose dropped the last 2 reviews for ASHK. ek tou match ka bahana dosra I knew the story wont progress much so I will review it from episode 17 but now I think I should have skipped 3 episodes because really the story hasn’t progressed much. But then review bhi tou kerna hai na.. so here you go.
Star power, is the power of the Star i.e the main protagonist’s power that draws people to cinema or in case of a drama keep the viewers glued to their screen just to watch their beloved star. Fawad khan is lucky and should be thankful that he has achieved what many have not. Not even faysal queshi can bring such massive viewership to the TV screen. When you watch Ashk you cannot stop yourself praising this actor who plays every role with gusto and high dedication. Minus Fawad from ASHK and imagine what are we going to have.
In my last review for ASHK I did praise this drama for few good things it had and even though I may be so frustrated with ASHK going wrong I cannot take it away from the story. ASHK is a nice story. But the execution has gone all wrong. The dialogues are messed up, the relationship amongst characters is fuzzy and left half baked, wrong choices of actors, add the return on money aspect of the producer stretching ASHK to 24 episodes and you have a product that’s half baked. Half shaped.
The problem is the fact that ASHK is good in parts. It has story but it fails to transform into screen. Ideally this Drama should have been a movie because this story is ideally meant for the 70mm. It has a dhasoo Hero, a Chulbulli Heroin, an Item number kinda girl madiha and the good meaty role of mehru. But it has been stretched to 24 episodes serial. A story that can be summed up in 2hours 30 mins has been stretched to 35 mins X 24. Please do the math.
This week we did not get to see much of Fawad khan and that also explains why this episode might have been a pain to watch. But let’s talk about only for what happened this week. I don’t understand this character of Mehru. She is the most cunning woman you would come across. She loves bilal but don’t want to damage her image and make rohail an escape goat. Then acts satti savetri and becomes the most pious lady around and say “mein ney tou yeh shadi iss liye ki hai kay mein gaoon kay logo kay sath reh sakoon aur in ki madad ker sakon”.. aray bibi bus ker doo yeh makariyaan. A fellow reviewer Nadia has given you the right name Fasad un nisa. Sarey Fasad ki jar hi app ho bibi.
Aur abb baat hojaye Zaibu ki :) yaar hadh hai yaar . yeh chal kya raha hai? Those of you, who did not watch this week’s episode. Please watch it. Not because there was something dhasoo that happened in it. But, only because, k mera time waste howa hai yeh wali episode dekh ker, tou abb sab ka hoo. Matlab hadh hai yaar. You are telling everyone about how much you love rohail but not rohail himself. Can’t you get time to talk to him? Is he all angry mad at you? If he loves you he will listen to you. And then what was this flash back? I mean is there any sanity left? Come on chinky. How disgraceful can you be? You are flirting with a girl and looking at her with all that chichori nazer and she barely gives a 1 min lecture and you say okay mujhey rakhi band lo! Yaar bus abb nahi hota mujh say. I literally felt kay mein kisi dewaar per sir mar doon apna :)
So there are 7 more episodes left and I am not sure if I am going to review this drama next week or not. But I guess after 4 more episodes I can muster up enough courage to watch it again. But you never know, every week ASHK doesn’t stop surprising you with its dialogues and story going up and down. I am sure if they had a Manhattan graph for ASHK it would have been a zigzag, up and then down and then shots up. The only saving grace for this Drama is Fawad Khan. It’s amazing to see how everyone ends up looking at him; the guy has achieved super stardom not many can even dream of. I mean how we can ignore the fact that even though there was no review last week we still had everyone commenting for the sake of FK, every week we watch ASHK because we want to see FK and hope against hope that may be there is something left in this serial. But is there something left? Well the next 7 weeks will unveil it all.
