Alvida…The Final Farewell By Kiran

And they argued, giggled, fought and chattered endlessly; ever after. Haya\’s true love was finally rewarded and Hadi realized, running away was no longer the answer. He loved Haya, whether he liked to admit it or not and whether he was cursed or not she wasn\’t gonna take no for an answer any more.<em> The only option he was left with was to face and admit his feelings for her and let fate take its course.

Both Haya and Hadi had come a long way, the growing up or coming of age process for Haya did not change her feelings for her HS and with time and experience Hadi also realised running away and denial was not helping anyone. Rather this attitude was causing pain and misery to himself and Haya along with the rest of the family.

Well, this episode did bring about the much anticipated and hoped and prayed for Union of Hadi and Haya :), it also marks the end of this journey that started 20 weeks ago. When it started it wasn\’t just about these two, there were many others who contributed magnificently to this story and without whom this play wouldn\’t be half as interesting as it is today. On top of that list is of course Fareesa. Enough has been said about her in the reviews but I will say it again, Alvida would not be the hit it turned out to be, if it weren\’t for her. This girl brought the much needed spice to this otherwise overwhelmingly sweet love story. So obviously we were hoping to see her one last time in this episode but she was completely absent, not one single scene. That was a bit disappointing, I mean we were expecting a proper farewell from Fareesa.

Also all we heard about Rameez towards the end was \” pakra gaya hai \”, I was kind of hoping for a divorce or Rameez\’s sentence or his death, you know just to make things more clear and settled. I also can\’t help but think that too much about Rameez\’s past was revealed in the last episode, it would have been better if we had been given this detail in a previous episode or if this wasn\’t the last installment, I just felt he got too much air time. Also the hospital scene was a bit too long, granted we were given the details about how crucial this was for Hadi, him facing his fears and coming to terms with his past and getting a closure but still, I wish they had made it a bit brief.

Sameera Fazal and Shahzad Kashmiri teamed up to bring this sweet, simple love story which had so many twists and turns that we were glued to our TV screens for 20 weeks. It wasn\’t just the story and presentation that did the job, characterization and dialogues were also a big plus. Each character no matter major or minor, contributed to the story, the dialogues left an impact and cast selection was just the cherry on top. Yes Imran Abbas and Sanam Jung are super talented, they share amazing onscreen chemistry and we were expecting nothing but the best from these two. Apart from them I loved the selection of Sara Khan as Fareesa, her performance will not be forgotten any time soon. Saim and Rameez both did their part well but most importantly I am really glad they got Naveen Waqar to play Aroosa, that character was pivotal and it was crucial that it was played by someone as talented, gorgeous and like able as Naveen.

One more thing I have to mention is the relationship both Salman sahib and Zeenat ( taya and tayi ) had with their kids. These are two parents who could actually give lectures on parenting. The way they dealt with every situation, never losing their calm, always being neutral and calling a spade a spade and most importantly always supporting and loving their children no matter what. These two are the most level headed and sensible parents I have seen in a while.

So I guess its time to say Alvida to Alvida; a drama that reinforces our faith in the power of a simple and touching love story, which has been directed by a man who knows his job, acted by actors who love their work and executated without falling prey to any of the \” hit formulas \” that are so IN these days. Most of all, thank you for not dragging this much loved drama. Take a bow Team Alvida and best of luck for the future.
