As I’ve said before, Alvida definitely has one thing going for it- its pace. Each episode moves along swiftly and the story keeps progressing steadily. Haya was being a grumpy old troll and tried to avoid taking part in the wedding festivities. A big shout out to the costume designer- I really liked how classy Uroosa looked in her bridal and mehendi outfit. Too bad Uroosa reverted to her girl-next-door outfits the very next morning. At least we didn’t waste much of the episode on the never-ending rasms that have become part of many of our dramas.

So while we’re struggling with the khaandaani khichri, Tayee Ammi is cooking up another storm- she’s trying to help Haya move on instantly with Saim. For some odd reason, Tayee Ammi assumed that replacing Hadi with Saim is a quick fix for Haya’s broken heart. Before Haya has had a chance to comprehend what’s happening, Fareesa jumps in feeling threatened and lashes out at Haya for trying to hook up with Saim- Mere Saim se durr raha karo… Mera nerdy Saim hi pasand agaya??? Erm, insulting your boyfriend and suggesting that mujhe bohut miljaye gein isn’t the best way to go about trying to salvage a relationship…

Meanwhile, Hadi wants to spend his azaadi ki akhri raat hanging out with Haya. Only, he’s not really planning on spending time with her but simply wants her to help Uroosa get out of her house so the two lovebirds can go on a date the night before their wedding, I am getting a little peeved with Uroosa’s simpleton act- Khan Chacha ke saath agey kyu behthe gein???

Haya went to Uroosa on the night of her wedding and expressed her true feelings. I’m getting really good at this guessing game! Hadi was around at the exact moment and overheard the conversation and tried to knock some sense into Haya- he labelled her feelings as infatuation instead of love. He clearly told her that he was close to her and thought of her as his best friend and nothing more. Haya had dreamt up the romance bit all by herself.

The following day, Haya packed her bags and was determined to go away. Now this part got a little confusing- Haya knows where she wants to go and calls Fawad- Hadi’s friend who also happens to be a doctor. Are they related too??? Anyhow, Fawad asks Haya where she wants to go and then goes to Hadi and gives him the contact details of where he supposedly dropped off Haya. Only, Haya isn’t there any more- or is she?

Fareeza seized this opportunity to badmouth Haya- she started going around and spreading the word that maybe there’s something going on between Hadi and Haya that caused her to run away. I hope this doesn’t turn into another drama about misunderstandings and spur of the moment talaaqs and jazbaati dusri shaadi… Only time will tell where this is headed.
