I was rather critical of Akbari Asghari in my previous review of the serial as a whole; of course, that was my opinion (and I stand by it) and the readers are most welcome to criticize and hold their own opinion. I do agree with most of the comments to my previous review, by the way.
In any case, this particular episode had me in fits of laughter in front of the laptop, and it is only too lucky no one was around to witness my lunacy.
Akbari and Asghar’s honeymoon, along with Bayji, was a treat to watch. It dragged for a while, but on the whole, it was extremely hilarious. Asghar’s dream, prior to the honeymoon, was even more so, especially when Akbari woke up and threw pillows at him.
The Asghari-Akbar track is also coming along smoothly, and I really appreciate the writer, Faiza Iftikhar for conveying a very important message in it. As Asghari said: if you lie once, you have to lie multiple times to validate it. Sir Walter Scott said: Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. There are many people in reality, who do not really think a small ‘white’ lie matters. Here we see that a whole lifestyle has been lied about. And of course, Asghari’s parents have to lie repeatedly to poor, unsuspecting Akbar.
Overall, the pace of the serial is still slow; it would be great if some scenes were clipped. However, it is getting funnier and that is a relief.
Before I sign off this rather short review, I will say that every actor/actress is doing a great job. There have been comments stating that there is a lot of over-acting. However, that is simply the requirement of every role. I still feel Sanam-Fawad duo should have played Akbar-Asghari, however, that does not mean they are not doing a great job with their current roles.
