Agar Tum Saath Ho: A Love Triangle Done Right

Three episodes in, Agar Tum Saath Ho (Hum TV) has already given us a classic love triangle with a side of Iago-level manipulation. Starring real-life couple Mawra Hocane and Ameer Gilani—who’ve already melted hearts in Neem and Sabaat—this drama adds Zaviyar Ejaz into the mix, making things even more complicated.

Childhood friends Ramsha, Farhan, and Sahir couldn’t be more different. Farhan is a carefree cricketer who avoids responsibility, while Sahir, a businessman, seems like he was born wearing a suit and probably schedules his emotions between board meetings. In the middle is Ramsha, balancing playfulness with ambition.

.

Ramsha (Mawra Hocane) and Farhan (Ameer Gilani) share an effortless chemistry, their dynamic filled with light-hearted teasing. Meanwhile, Sahir (Zaviyar Ejaz) broods in the background, buried in his capitalist grind. The contrast between the two men is striking—Sahir is all about structure, time, and profit, while Farhan is the fun-loving, never-serious one.

The characters are beautifully flawed in their own ways—Farhan is still financially dependent on his father, while Sahir struggles to maintain a work-life balance. One refuses to grow up; the other doesn’t know how to relax. Even their friendship extends to their families, as Farhan’s father (Adnan Jaffar) openly favors Sahir, sarcastically taunting his son that his championship trophy isn’t even good enough to make achar. (Ouch, desi parents really don’t hold back.).

But just when you think you have the love triangle figured out, enter Naveen—the latest wrench in the works. She’s got feelings for Farhan, but unfortunately for her, he only has eyes for Ramsha. “It’s not necessary that those who like us, like us back,” he says in what is definitely foreshadowing. (Sir, are you reading the script ahead of time?) From Farhan’s sharp-tongued father to Naveen’s one-sided love, the supporting cast makes sure this drama isn’t just about the leads.

Manipulation and Rivalry: Love at what cost?

As the story progresses, we see Farhan’s carefree attitude start taking a toll on his family. He prioritizes Ramsha above everything, his devil-may-care approach turning into a lack of responsibility. But just when he’s about to confess his love to Ramsha, bam—Sahir swoops in, convinces him to leave town instead. Does this make Sahir a villain? He’s not twisting his mustache just yet, but his moves are straight out of an Iago-style playbook—subtle, insidious, and entirely self-serving.

Maybe all he really wants is a fair chance to talk to Ramsha first… or maybe he’s just rewriting the story to suit himself.

Agar Tum Sath Ho Review: A Love Triangle Done Right
Zaviyar Ejaz’s stand-out performance

The brilliance of Agar Tum Saath Ho is in how it refuses to paint anyone as purely good or evil. We get to see all perspectives—Ramsha’s growing anxiety as she feels torn between the two, Sahir’s desperation to win her over without forcing her, and Farhan’s willingness to change his entire life if it means he can get married. It’s an emotional mess, but a beautifully crafted one.

The best love triangles are the ones where we don’t have an obvious villain, and Agar Tum Saath Ho nails that balance—much like Ho Mann Jahaan did.

The classic introvert-extrovert setup always works: one brooding, responsible type (Sahir, a corporate version of Adeel Hussain’s Arhan) and one carefree, charming risk-taker (Farhan, channelling Sheheryar Munawar’s Nadir energy). And of course, the woman in the middle (Ramsha) who doesn’t just exist to choose between them but actually has her own personality and ambitions. We like all three characters, which makes this triangle deliciously messy rather than frustratingly predictable.

So where is this headed? Will Farhan finally step up and take life seriously? Will Sahir loosen his tie and maybe, just maybe, let someone else win for once? And most importantly—will Ramsha ever get a moment of peace between these two?
